  • To ensure you’re viewing the latest version of this website, please clear your browser’s cache by doing the following:

    • For Windows machines, hold the CTRL key and press F5
    • For MAC's hold the CMD and Shift keys and press the "R" key

  • Use of Government-issued IT devices

    • Excepted Employees: Please remember to use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) whenever you are conducting NASA excepted services during the shutdown due to a lapse in funding. This ensures your IT device is getting appropriate patching and is protected by other layers of NASA’s network infrastructure to guard against cyber threats.

    • Non-Excepted Employees (Updated 1/18/2019): During shutdown due to a lapse in funding, non-excepted employees are generally not permitted to use their government-issued IT devices for the duration of the shutdown. NASA has determined that non-excepted employees may use government-issued IT devices for the limited purposes of receiving notifications regarding furlough status and to access information posted on https://nasapeople.nasa.gov/shutdown/shutdown.htm.

    The following contact information will remain active during a Shutdown Furlough:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
    NASA’s EAP provides confidential, short-term, counseling assistance and referral to employees who are dealing with issues such as: depression; anxiety; family conflicts; marital problems; eldercare; substance and alcohol abuse and occupational stress. During the partial shutdown/furlough while NASA Center clinicians are unavailable, an EAP provider (Workplace Options) is staffed with professional and licensed mental health counselors to temporarily support employees. Counselors can be contacted at 1-888-728-1404. Questions related to filing for unemployment; medical insurance coverage; and/or other human resource and employee benefit-related matters are not covered by EAP.
