One of the benefits of working for the Government is the availability of healthcare through the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. You need to make sure you have adequate medical insurance for you and your family. We recommend you check with your insurance company before departure to see if your coverage extends overseas. If you are in a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), you may not be covered overseas. In addition, you may want to contact your Human Resources Office to review the information available in the most current FEHB Program Guide. You may also want to look at one of the many health insurance carriers that specializes in overseas coverage.
