The responsibilities of the Center contacts for the NOPS application are:
Ensure FPPS data is correct. The data for the NASA Organizational Profile System is downloaded from the Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS) every pay period. This includes data fields in the Personnel Master, the Personnel History, and the Payroll MER files. It is each Center's responsibility to ensure that the FPPS data is correct on their employees.
Generate PIN memos. NOPS uses the same PINs as NEBS. PIN numbers are automatically generated for all new permanent employees. Access is given to each Center for printing out the PIN memos for mailing to these new employees.
Reset PIN numbers. PIN numbers may be easily reset for employees who have incorrectly entered their PIN or have lost or misplaced their number. Access is given to each Center to reset these numbers for their employees and generate a new PIN memo to be mailed to the employee.
Ensure that Supervisory designations are properly identified within FPPS. Populate the table for key non-supervisory staff members who will require access to NOPS.
NOPS HR Representatives. Populate table of NOPS HR Reps who customers will be able to contact.
